Tineco FLOOR ONE S5 Wet Dry Vacuum
Research-based review

Tineco FLOOR ONE S5

Worth Considering — Everyday hard-floor washing

Main advantage
Combine wet and dry clean-up in a regular sealed-hard-floor routine.
Main drawback
The tanks, filter and roller still need care after cleaning; this is not a carpet cleaner.

Best for: Homes with sealed hard floors and frequent wet or dry messes.

Skip it: Mainly carpeted homes or owners unwilling to clean tanks and rollers after use.

The details, when you need them

Jump to a section

Scope: FLOOR ONE S5 cordless washer; not S5 Steam or S5 Combo. This is a research-based buying assessment using manufacturer information and the outside source identified below. Buy If Works has not carried out a hands-on test of this product.

Product and model: what you are buying

The selected FLOOR ONE range contains several different machines. This introductory review uses the cordless S5 as a clearly identified example, not the Steam or Combo versions. Tineco lists separate clean and dirty water tanks and an iLoop sensor that adjusts cleaning operation.

What the outside evidence shows

TechRadar reported good results on fresh spills and more effort for dried-on dirt, with useful Auto and Max modes. Its review also highlighted limitations around grout, under-furniture access and dock space. The article discusses S5 regional variants, so do not transfer every mode or accessory it mentions to a standard S5 listing.

Where it fits in everyday use

The saving to assess is the whole cleaning job, including the appliance afterwards. For frequent kitchen spills, keeping a washer ready may be attractive. For one small spill, filling a tank, using the machine and then emptying it may feel like more work than a simple mop. Before buying, identify the recurring task that would make the machine earn its storage space.

Strengths and trade-offs
  • Combines debris collection and washing for compatible hard floors.
  • TechRadar reported useful fresh-spill cleaning and responsive Auto mode.

Post-use tank and roller care remain necessary. Grout, furniture access and carpet needs limit its role; S5 variants differ.

Ownership costs and practical checks

Budget beyond the purchase price

Potential up-front extras
A supply of compatible cleaning solution and an optional spare roller if your routine needs one. Check what the S5 bundle already includes.
Repeating costs
Cleaning solution, replacement rollers and filters as needed, water and charging electricity. Tank and roller cleaning also take time after use.
Check before paying
Check delivered prices of S5-compatible parts and solution. The manufacturer lists S5/S5 PRO accessories separately; match the part to your exact model.

First-year planning: delivered product price + required extras + the consumables, optional plans and energy you expect to use.

Compare replacement rollers, filters and approved solution alongside the purchase price. Allow space for components to dry and for the charging dock to remain accessible. A self-clean program is a helpful step, but it should not be treated as permission to leave dirty water in the machine. Follow both the appliance instructions and your flooring supplier’s guidance.

  1. Confirm the exact S5 version and your flooring manufacturer’s wet-cleaning guidance.
  2. Check replacement rollers, filters and approved solution costs.
  3. Allow time and space for emptying, cleaning and drying the dirty-water parts.
Questions before buying
Can it replace a carpet vacuum?

This S5 page concerns hard-floor washing. Do not assume suitability for carpet or area rugs.

Does self-cleaning do everything?

Follow the manual for emptying tanks and cleaning and drying components; self-cleaning is one part of the routine.

Are S5, S5 Steam and S5 Combo the same?

No. Confirm the full model name and regional functions before comparing specifications or ordering parts.

Evidence limits

Worth Considering is a conditional editorial assessment of the use case described here. It is not a hands-on performance score or a best-in-category award. External tests concern their reviewers’ units and conditions; we have not verified long-term reliability, every regional revision or today’s delivered price.
