SwitchBot S10 Robot Vacuum & Mop
Research-based review

SwitchBot S10

Worth Considering — Mopping with a plumbed station

Main advantage
Automatic water handling can reduce repeated refilling and emptying during hard-floor cleaning.
Main drawback
A suitable water connection and room for the stations are prerequisites, and maintenance still remains.

Best for: Homes with compatible water connections and regular hard-floor cleaning.

Skip it: Homes without a suitable installation point or mainly carpeted rooms.

The details, when you need them

Scope: S10 with auto-empty/dry station and water station. This is a research-based buying assessment using manufacturer information and the outside source identified below. Buy If Works has not carried out a hands-on test of this product.

Product and model: what you are buying

The S10 combines vacuuming and a roller mop with separate dust/drying and water stations. SwitchBot advertises 6,500Pa suction and a water station connected to household supply and drainage. Those specifications describe the design; they do not establish cleaning quality on your floors.

What the outside evidence shows

Android Authority tested a manufacturer-supplied S10 for three weeks, reporting capable vacuuming and mopping. Its reviewer found the robot too wide for some chair gaps and too tall for some furniture. The optional External Water Tank offered a non-plumbed route, but that setup still needs manual water handling. These are findings from that home, not a universal cleaning ranking.

Where it fits in everyday use

Station placement is part of the product, not an afterthought. Trace the journey from charging dock to water station and then to the rooms you want cleaned. Door thresholds, dining chairs and low furniture can matter more than a suction specification. Buying greater automation is useful only if the machine can reach the places that repeatedly need attention.

Strengths and trade-offs
  • Automatic water handling can reduce refill work in a compatible installation.
  • Android Authority reported useful cleaning and smart-home controls during its three-week review.

Two stations need space. Furniture clearances and plumbing determine usefulness; the external tank changes the maintenance routine.

Ownership costs and practical checks

Budget beyond the purchase price

Potential up-front extras
Water and drain connection work if your installation needs extra fittings or professional help. Confirm which connection kit and consumables the package includes.
Repeating costs
Replacement dust bags, rollers and filters as needed, plus compatible cleaning solution, water and electricity. Follow the regional manual for maintenance.
Check before paying
Check local prices and availability of S10 parts, installation suitability and who handles repairs before comparing the robot price alone.

First-year planning: delivered product price + required extras + the consumables, optional plans and energy you expect to use.

A cost checklist, not a live price quote or a measured annual total. Check local prices and your selected bundle. Manufacturer product / support details ↗ · Checked 11 October 2026.

Compare purchase price with fitting work, consumables and the time you will spend on routine care. If you rent or expect to move, the installation decision deserves extra weight. Ask what comes with the local kit and what support is available for replacement parts. Treat an optional tank as a different ownership routine rather than assuming it gives the same convenience as a permanent supply.

  1. Confirm water supply, drain fittings and space around both stations.
  2. Verify the US, EU or UK electrical version and local service coverage.
  3. Price replacement bags and rollers alongside the robot.
Questions before buying
Does automatic water handling eliminate maintenance?

No. Plan routine care of the roller, filters, bags, sensors and stations according to the manual.

Is the external tank included?

Do not assume so. The independent review considered it an optional add-on; verify the contents of your current regional kit.

Will it fit under my furniture?

Measure actual clearances and compare the exact robot dimensions. An unobstructed showroom floor does not represent a furnished home.

Evidence limits

Worth Considering is a conditional editorial assessment of the use case described here. It is not a hands-on performance score or a best-in-category award. External tests concern their reviewers’ units and conditions; we have not verified long-term reliability, every regional revision or today’s delivered price.
