Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a browser. Similar technologies can include local storage, tracking pixels and identifiers used by embedded services. This policy describes the technologies used in the current website configuration.

Technologies used on Buy If Works

Statistics choice: biw_statistics_choice_v1, first-party local storage on this website. It holds your accept/refuse choice and a timestamp, without a visitor identifier, for up to 180 days. It is used to respect your statistics preference.
Administrator authentication: WordPress uses first-party authentication and login-state cookies when an administrator signs in, along with a temporary test cookie and, where applicable, interface/language preferences. These support the requested login and admin interface, not public advertising. Authentication lasts until the configured login expires or the session is invalidated; choosing persistent sign-in can extend it. Interface preferences may last longer than the session. Ordinary visitors do not need an administrator account.
Hosting and security: Spaceship provides the server and security infrastructure. Server request logs and AWStats reports are not the optional local statistics table and do not depend on that consent choice. See the Privacy Policy for their purposes and retention distinctions.

The inspected logged-out homepage loads its script and images from this website and has no third-party video iframe. This inventory describes the current website configuration; external destinations have their own technologies.

Necessary functionality

Necessary technologies support requested functions such as administrator sign-in and security. Their functions are listed above. Optional statistics remains subject to your separate choice.

Optional technologies and your choice

Our optional local statistics uses the controls described below. Choose Accept statistics to permit collection, or Reject statistics to refuse. You can use the website either way. Use Statistics preferences in the footer to suspend collection immediately and reopen the choice. This preference does not control a retailer or social platform after you leave our website.

Local statistics preferences

When local statistics is enabled, biw_statistics_choice_v1 is a first-party local-storage item on this website’s origin. It stores only a grant/refusal and its timestamp for up to 180 days, so we can respect your choice. No unique visitor ID is created. Optional event requests begin only after you choose Accept statistics. Reject statistics is available with equal prominence. Statistics preferences at the bottom of the page immediately suspends collection and lets you change your choice. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track blocks collection. Daily aggregate statistics are kept in the website database for a rolling 90 days with scheduled cleanup. Hosting request logs are separate. This description does not cover any other plugin or embedded service.

External retailer websites

Clicking a retailer or affiliate link takes you to an external service with its own policies and controls. Its tracking arrangements are separate from any technologies used on Buy If Works itself.

Browser controls

You can review or delete stored site data using your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking necessary technologies may prevent requested functions such as administrator sign-in from working. Browser deletion does not replace the site’s duty to obtain consent where required.

Further information

See the Privacy Policy for the controller’s contact details, processing arrangements and your rights. For questions, email arturas.koroliovas@icloud.com.

Marketplace choice and current tracking status

The marketplace selector runs in the page and does not save your choice or infer your location. Current buying links are ordinary external links. The local statistics module collects only after consent. Google Analytics, Matomo and Clarity were not enabled in the inspected SiteSEO settings. Social buttons are ordinary links rather than social-network embeds. Administrator tools and hosting account interfaces are separate from the public website.

Saved-for-later shortlist

When you choose Save for later, this browser stores product identifiers under biw-saved-v2 in local storage. The list stays on this browser; it is not sent to our server or linked to a visitor account. It is used to show your chosen products after you return. There is no automatic expiry. Remove a product with its Saved button, use Clear saved list in the Saved for later view, or clear this website’s browser storage. Saving is optional and separate from statistics preferences. If storage is blocked, the list may work only until the page is closed or reloaded.

Optional saved decisions and buying help

When you choose Save, your product shortlist or up to ten saved comparisons are kept in this browser’s local storage. No account is required and these saves are not uploaded to us. You can clear saved items or comparisons from Products or Compare, or remove the data in your browser settings. Clearing browser storage removes these saves.

A dismissible continuation prompt uses your saved comparisons, not a hidden browsing profile. Optional buying-help answers show relevant information on the page. With your optional statistics consent, only aggregate counts of save, compare, help-choice and continuation actions are recorded. No free-text notes or saved comparison contents are collected. Free-text notes are not sent or saved. No email, payday, price-drop or interrupted-shopping reminders are currently sent. We do not treat a retailer click as a purchase.

Temporary catalogue state

To return to your research, this browser may keep catalogue searches, filters, page and scroll position in session storage. This is functional browsing state, not a server-side visitor profile. Clear it by ending the browser session or clearing site data. Search requests still reach this website to return results. Product saves and saved comparisons remain optional and are kept separately on this browser.
